my last blog was on thursday, that was my birthday, spent in school from 7am to 9 plus pm (LEO investiture). that night i fell asleep while replying a sms, it was not sent until i woke up the next morning! i've never felt so tired before... luckily it didn't drop from the upper deck, else i'll have to visit SE service centre again. phew! though i didn't get the chance to celebrate with my family, it was a day well-spent. a few of my colleagues, KS, LS, CY, DY, EV bought me a birthday cake & sang me a birthday song! DY gave me a pair of earrings, very pretty, I like it a lot, but my ears aren't pierced! haha... she gave me a hand-made card as well, what a sweet lady. some other friends drop me birthday greetings, i was especially delighted to hear from some friends like YZ & YL whom i haven't been in close contact recently. my sister's friends bear & Gen also gave me presents! bear folded a whole bottle of stars for me, i feel so pampered! keke

today i received news that the contract teacher,MT, would be taking over one of my class - for tutorials only. however, i still have to sit in to ensure that things are running well (though i believe she will do a good job), we don't want parents or students to feel insecured...on one hand, i am happy because my workload will be reduced. however, i've become quite attached to my classes, & it feels like a loss having to give them up.
in the evening, i met YZ, HQ & YX for light dinner at Suntec. we ordered some finger food at Surf & Turf. tiramisu was soggy, cheese fries reeked of a funny peanut butter taste, calamari was too thinly sliced and overdone, the best of the worst was the prawn salad wrap. but even then, i don't find it any appetizing. lucky the company was good, & we had a good time laughing & joking over what we were eating. the good thing that came after the disappointment was a $30 full rebated voucher at some restaurants like Siam Kitchen & The Wine Bar (we spent only $37++; must use HSBC card though). The four of us walked to Esplanade, thought we could get ourselves some drinks at The Wine Bar. In the end we could only order finger food, and next come potato wedges, chicken wings and cheesesticks. This time round the food was good, but the portions were too big & we ended up dabaoing. haha... at around 11.30 pm, i was dead beat, i was so thankful my dad was on the way & so he sent me home.

nice sunny saturday, i went kayaking with YT & MH at Pasir Ris Beach. MH is in charge of NCC (she got herself a motorboat license & i'm looking forward to her driving us out to sea for a seafood meal as promised. hee), so her whole group of babies were there for their kayaking course too. kayaking was pretty easy that day because the water was quite calm & manageable, i thought carrying the kayak was more jiat lat! keke. we canoed from the shore to the kelong areas, however we could not venture any further as both YT & i are only one star award holders. so the designated area for use was small. it makes me wonder if i should go for the two star course, then i can go on an expedition. that will be more fun! YT had to rush to school for a parent-teacher meeting, so we kept out session short.
evening - my good friends PP, YT & RH met for a meal at Sofra. I've received a 15% discount voucher as a birthday treat from Singtel. lovely, because i like the ambience & the food at Sofra. my three buddies passed me my birthday presents, i felt so loved. the most interesting gift was a mini pet tree that i can grow (the girls know i love plants). MH met RH for the first time that day, she dropped by to meet PP. they were primary school friends. what a small world right? after dinner, the four of us walked over to Bugis. MH left for home while PP, YT, RH & i went to Mos Burger for a chit chat. we had a good laugh over some stupid jokes & really enjoyed ourselves. it has been quite a while since all four of us gathered in full force & had such a good time together.

morning met my NUS kakis, MG, AD & PP for KLunch at Marine Parade. i'm down with a bit of cough today, but heng can still sing. this time round, we have full strength. MG's gf was supposed to come too, but what a pity she's down with a flu. halfway through the ktv session, the guys surprised me with a birthday cake. a very pleasant & lovely surprise, it made my day. thank you! the cake was good, not to sweet to taste but very sweet to the heart. haha... chocolate & peppermint, both my favourites! yummy... :P anyway, we had a good laugh over the song "one night in beijing". MG was fanatic about the song. he was both the male and female voices. MG, tonight don't sing this in your sleep hor, will scare people one. lolx
after ktv, we went to Parkway Parade to jalan jalan a little then PP & i left for home. now blogging & looking forward to my cycling trip with my colleagues tomorrow. :D
